the new testament is easier to understand once you realize that structurally it's just fanfic (the gospels) and comment threads (the epistles)

"Countless #platformcoop and initiatives supporting them have developed rapidly over the past 2 years. This #ecosystem challenges the practices of the #sharingeconomy, and the often #misogynist ‘win at all costs’ culture of #SiliconValley.
The #Internet can be owned and governed differently. The experiments now already underway show that a global #ecosystem of cooperatives, in collaboration with Free and #OpenSource movement, can stand against the concentration of wealth"

French Government opens the first #Mastodon instance for public agents. Way to go!!

It's so sad to think that the previous Brazilian government under Dilma had a strong pro-free-software stance (and the one before under Lula even more so; Dilma's govt made steps backwards in the Ministry of Culture wrt Creative Commons adoption) and now the current regime (hard to call it a govt) totally reversed its course (spending millions on proprietary licensing while talking about spending cuts).
We're _so_ not getting a .gov.br Mastodon instance like they have in France :(

"When platform monopolies dictate the roll-out of technology, there is less and less innovation, fewer places to invest, less to invent."
"Silicon Valley has turned its back on its most important political friend: antitrust. Instead, it's embraced what it should understand as the enemy of innovation: #monopoly."
